mcm celebrates MFA win with IKON Communications

A cleverly integrated multi-media campaign developed by Ikon Communications and mcm recently took home top honours at the annual Media Federation Awards in Sydney

Hitman:Blood Money for Atari won the Best Use of a Small Budget category. The campaign spanned online, mobile, magazine, radio and commuter press and focused on putting the audience in the shoes of the game's anti-hero. The campaign was designed to get consumers hooked on the adrenalin of making a hit and encouraged repeat interaction with the brand.

All media activity drove traffic to the dedicated microsite built by mcm where consumers were briefed on weekly missions. Participants received a voice message from Agent 47 on their mobiles inviting them to revisit the microsite and participate in another hit. Listen here. Users who completed all 4 weekly missions went in the draw for the prize money. Average time online was 11 minutes and over 12,000 people completed the full complement of missions.

The $80K budget was stretched to $202,437 and the sales target was exceeded in the first 3 months (74% up on the initial sales objectives). MFA judging panel said, "The campaign was built off a solid strategic insight that formed the foundation for a very effective and creative media partnership. The execution tapped into the motivations of the target audience in an innovative way."

How to stretch your radio budget

The most cost efficient and effective way to advertise on radio is through program sponsorship.

Sponsorship gives brands the opportunity to 'own' a particular show and reap the benefits of editorial style advertising, talent endorsement, discounted airtime and a consistent, targeted communication. Sponsorship of mcm's national radio programs is available on 3 month, 6 month and 12 month agreements with considerable cost efficiencies as the sponsorship period increases.

Many major national clients have had great success as sponsors of mcm's radio properties, with several rolling over their sponsorship deals year after year. These include major brands like BigPond, Artline, and Jagermeister.

There are lots of valuable sponsorship opportunities coming up in 2008 so talk to us now to find out more.
