New series of Vodafone Live At The Chapel
mcm entertainment's critically acclaimed live music series Vodafone Live At the Chapel kicked off its new season last month in fine 'homegrown' style.
Four incredible Australian acts took the Chapel stage over 4 weeks, with Missy Higgins, John Butler Trio, Josh Pyke and Sneaky Sound System all proving what great shape the local music industry is in.
Now in its third year, the collaboration with Ikon Communications and Vodafone sees Live At The Chapel broadening its scope musically - meaning an ever more diverse and unique music experience for fans around the nation. Live music lovers can experience the performances on a variety of platforms too - including Vodafone 3G mobile, FTA and pay TV, Qantas Inflight, national radio and CD/DVD.
mcm are very excited to announce two new broadcast partners, Channel 7 and Nova. Vodafone Live at The Chapel kicks off on Channel 7 on Sundays at 10:30am from September 9, so don’t forget to tune in. Fully produced in-house by mcm, Live At The Chapel provides Vodafone (with the help of Ikon) with original, credible music content to spearhead their wider music strategy. The series itself is receiving unprecedented support from record labels and their artists - a true testament to its commercial and artistic worth. A recent Sydney Morning Herald article suggested '...in a world of widespread media fragmentation... Music, with all the loyalty and the passion that it engenders, is emerging as the new medium... the match between brands and music is a natural fit'

mcm, MTV & Bigpond Project Joystick - a cross media collaboration
mcm recently teamed up with MTV to deliver a powerful, integrated campaign in support of BigPond Games' Project Joystick .
The Hot Hits' "games and gadgets" man Andy Wells was a key ambassador for the launch of the innovative project, which offered enthusiasts the chance to get their game idea developed into a bona fide video game.
mcm and MTV created unique, tailored in-program content to run across national radio and MTV. The content included segments on great moments of gaming inspiration and on the street vox pops for TV and radio featuring mcm's Andy Wells and MTV's Maz Compton. The campaign also featured extensive online support on thehothits.com, and atari.com.au
MTV's Liam Scullin says "MTV and mcm working together was really a no-brainer. We both have well known national music media products and the mix of our TV and their radio and interactive platforms really hit the spot for BigPond. These types of cooperative projects really help advertisers and media owners and should be encouraged." |
Million Dollar Lunch raises $1.52 Million!!
The 3rd annual Million Dollar Lunch, billed as 'the greatest contact lunch in the country' raised a mammoth $1.52 million for the KOALA Foundation last month.
Held in the Palladium at Melbourne's Crown Casino, The Million Dollar Lunch hosted 580 guests including some of the biggest names in business and entertainment, to raise funds for KOALA in support of children with cancer. Featured performers and hosts included H.G Nelson, Olivia Newton John, Leo Sayer, Damien Leith and The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, while auction items and prizes including a trip for two to the Beijing Olympics and a Lexus IS 250 proved very popular on the day. The single biggest item was a $300,000 national television, radio and press media package selling for $305,000 thanks to generous bidding from Starcom and their client Dairy Farmers. The Million Dollar Bar put together by Maxxium was a massive hit networking on until 6:30PM.
mcm entertainment and the KOALA Foundation would like in particular to thank official event partners The Pratt Foundation, Walt Disney International, Coca-Cola South Pacific and Lexus Australia together with our many suppliers including Foster's Group and Maxxium for their generous support.
CEO of mcm entertainment, Tony McGinn is Chairman of the KOALA Foundation, which was formed in 1992 by parents of children who are or have been treated for cancer. The group is entirely voluntary and works in conjunction with the State Government and hospital clinical resources to achieve 'world's best practice' in the treatment, care and support of children with cancer. Administrative support is donated so that all net funds raised can go to the care and support of our kids with cancer.
